A comparison has been made between the information provided by isotope imaging--before and after the introduction of E.M.I.-scanning--and E.M.I.-scanning itself. E.M.I.-scanning is superior to isotope imaging (also called scintigraphy) with the gamma camera and the rectilinear scanner in the amount and quality of information provided.
