Abstract
A case of leontiasis ossea, observed over a period of fifty years, is described with particular reference to certain similarities and differences as compared with Paget's disease of bone (osteitis deformans) and fibrous dysplasia. The differential diagnosis is discussed and it is concluded that leontiasis ossea is an entity in its own right.
