[Carcinochemotherapy in incurable cancer? (author's transl)].

Despite the rapid advances in carcinochemotherapy, the possibilities for the treatment of solid tumors are rather limited, so that the advantages and disadvantages of chemotherapy must be very carefullly considered in each case of incurable cancer. It should also be emphasized that there are several tumor types in which skillfull application of chemotherapy does not only lead to an objective improvement in the clinical findings but also prolongs the patient's life.
