A brief introduction to the pathomechanism of erosions in the eye is followed by a case report of a young soldier injured by a "peptizer" (2-methoxy-4-methylphenol). After early application of cortisone there was no cicatrization impairing function in the central corneal stroma. A row of small vesicles at the corneal limbus and in the conjunctiva were reminiscent of Labrador corneal dystrophy.
