[Microvascular thumb replacement surgery following traumatic amputation].

The possibilities of thumb restoration are improved by the availability of microsurgical techniques. As a secondary rehabilitation procedure the auto-transplantation of great toes and fingers is described. The indications for planning of the operation are demonstrated by case-examples.
