Abstract
A patient with the fetal hydantoin syndrome is described. The features include mild to moderate mental deficiency, craniofacial anomalies, prenatal onset of growth deficiency and varying limb abnormalities. Recognition of this spectrum of abnormalities in an infant should raise the possibility of maternal ingestion of hydantoin during pregnancy. The dangers of therapy with this drug during pregnancy are emphasized.

本文描述了一名患有胎儿苯妥英综合征的患者。其特征包括轻度至中度智力缺陷、颅面畸形、产前生长发育迟缓以及不同程度的肢体异常。若婴儿出现此类异常情况，应考虑其母亲在孕期服用过苯妥英。文中强调了孕期使用该药物的危险性。
