The urethral syndrome is generally not associated clinically with urethral changes, however, histology often reveals inflammatory or degenerative alterations. The conventionally diagnosed urethral syndrome can certainly be considered to be a synonym of chronic urethritis in adult females. The remarkable histological lesions were rupture of elastic fibers in the submucosa and the vascular wall, and a decrease of acid mucopolysaccharides in each layer of the urethra, accompanied by lymphocytic infiltration.
尿道综合征在临床上一般与尿道变化无关，然而，组织学检查常显示炎症或退行性改变。传统诊断的尿道综合征当然可以被认为是成年女性慢性尿道炎的同义词。显著的组织学病变为黏膜下层和血管壁弹性纤维断裂，尿道各层酸性黏多糖减少，并伴有淋巴细胞浸润。
