The role of glucocorticoid on the resynthesis of catecholamines was studied in the pigeon. Hydrocortisone was administered to the reserpinized pigeons. The steroid treated birds were autopsied along with the reserpinized controls. It was found that epinephrine production was considerably increased in the steroid treated group, which indicated that hydrocortisone had effectively triggered the methyl transferase activity during the restitution phase of catecholamines.
