[Inhibition of histamine-sensitive adenylate cyclase system of human gastric mucosa by cimetidine (author's transl)].

Human gastric mucosa contains a histamin-sensitive adenylate cyclase system. The activation of this enzyme system by histamine is competititively inhibited by the H2-receptor blocking agent cimetidine. Our results underscore the rational basis for the use 0f H2-receptor antagonists in the therapy of peptic ulcer.
