Experience of prolonged treatment of hand-Schüller-Christian disease with prednisolone.

An account is presented of the experience acquired in the prolonged prednisolone treatment, at 2-day intervals, of 6 patients with Hand-Schüller-Christian disease. A substantial improvement was observed in the basic process, with scarcely any side-effects. On the basis of the literature data and the present findings, glucocorticoid administration every second day is recommended for the treatment of these patients.
