Aspiration cytology has been performed in 2,180 cases of breast alterations. Cytological examination was followed by histological control in 967 cases. Diagnostic value (sensitivity) of the method proved to be as high as 83%. As a matter of principle, the technique cannot substitute histology. Using in combination with other clinical diagnostic measures like palpation, mammography, xeromammography, thermography the diagnostic possibilities are multipled. This preoperative morphological test of orientatory value which is rapid, cheap and painless and devoid of any complications is worth of widespread use. According to the authors opinion its routine application in the clinical practice is highly desirable.
对2180例乳腺病变患者进行了针吸细胞学检查。其中967例在细胞学检查后进行了组织学对照。该方法的诊断价值（敏感性）高达83%。原则上，该技术不能替代组织学检查。与触诊、乳腺X线摄影、干板乳腺X线摄影、热成像等其他临床诊断方法联合使用，可增加诊断的可能性。这种术前具有定位价值的形态学检查快速、廉价、无痛且无任何并发症，值得广泛应用。根据作者的观点，非常希望在临床实践中常规应用该检查。
