Correlation between the hydrolysis constants and spasmolytic activities of some isoquinolines.

Correlation was found between the hydrolysis constant and spasmolytic potency of some isoquinoline derivatives measured on isolated guinea-pig's ileum: the greater the hydrolysis constant the greater was the antispasmodic activity. On the basis of the results obrained the influence of pH on the pharmacologic activity of these compounds may be explained.
