The Politano and Leadbetter antireflux ureteroneocystostomy is the most accepted method for ureteral reimplantation. A modification of this procedure is suggested. The main differences are the way the submucosal tunnel is prepared, the resection and spatulating of the terminal ureter and a new concept of suturing the ureter to the bladder mucosa.
