Drug interactions are found in elderly patients to a higher degree than in younger persons, because of the multimorbidity in the advanced age. The reasons are pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacodynamic mechanisms. At the first glance the amount of interactions seems puzzling but after regarding details more thoroughly it turns out that most of those interactions may be attributed to just a few drugs.
由于高龄患者存在多种疾病，药物相互作用在老年患者中比在年轻患者中更为常见。其原因是药代动力学和/或药效学机制。乍一看，相互作用的数量似乎令人困惑，但在更深入地研究细节后发现，大多数相互作用可能仅归因于少数几种药物。
