This article deals with the nature, goals, areas of practice and the organizational basis of community work in Israel. Community work as a professional activity developed in Israel in the early sixties as a vehicle for resocialization of new immigrants, rebuilding new communities, social integration and development of local leadership. Government and semi-governmental organization played major roles in this area. In the early seventies community work moved also in the direction of social acting dealing more and more with current social issues.
本文探讨了以色列社区工作的性质、目标、实践领域以及组织基础。社区工作作为一项专业活动于20世纪60年代初在以色列兴起，成为新移民重新融入社会、重建新社区、促进社会融合以及培养地方领导力的一种手段。政府和半政府组织在这一领域发挥了主要作用。到了70年代初，社区工作也朝着社会行动的方向发展，越来越多地关注当前的社会问题。
