The directors of dietetics in 100 hospitals with more than 500 beds were sent a questionnaire regarding their current practices in in-service education. The data presented are based on the responses from seventy hospitals (70 per cent). Although 90 per cent indicated that they had a formal, in-service education program, the administration, structure, and components of the progams varied.
