Abstract
At the Ist Clinic for Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Vienna a selective prophylaxis of thrombosis in gynecological surgery is realized since 1965. By expansion of this prophylaxis up to 44.8% of all operations and by introduction of preoperative heparin-prophylaxis a decrease of thrombo-embolism to 0.18% could be obtained.
