Improved visualization of oxytalan fibers with resorcin fuchsin.

"Oxytalan" fibers in the skin are demonstrated with greater clarity and especially with greater contrast compared with other methods, when the resorcin-fuchsin procedure described by Weigert in 1898 is applied with some modification. The original formulation must be scrupulously maintained but the time of staining is increased. No prior oxidation is necessary with this method.
