These four areas in risk management are most often the cause of failure to eliminate patient risks. If these four major areas were incorporated into the medical student's curriculum or into the continuing educational upgrading of the physician, he would be developing risk control habits as well as knowledge that would allow him to practice quality medicine. He would also be able to enjoy the practice of medicine with less concern for malpractice reprisal and peer review. The ability to minimize the risk of medical care to the patient is an important responsibility of every physician. It is essential for the provision of quality medical care and for preventing or reducing an adversary relationship between the patient-public and the physician.
风险管理中的这四个领域往往是未能消除患者风险的主要原因。如果将这四个主要领域纳入医学生的课程或医生的继续教育提升中，他将培养风险控制习惯以及相关知识，从而能够践行高质量的医学。他也将能够更安心地从事医疗工作，而不必过于担心医疗事故报复和同行评审。将医疗对患者的风险降至最低的能力是每位医生的一项重要职责。这对于提供高质量的医疗服务以及预防或减少患者公众与医生之间的敌对关系至关重要。
