Abstract

Early symptoms of the local and systemic graft-versus-host reaction (GvHR) were evaluated by the lymph node enlargement test and by the spleen enlargement test in (Balb/c X AKR)F1 hybrid mice. The GvHR was induced by normal (Balb/c) spleen cells or in vivo allosensitized to AKR antigens and the same cells adsorbed on allogeneic (AKR) fibroblast monolayer. The results indicate that allosensitized spleen cells mediate the GvHR which is stronger than produced by nonsensitized splenocytes. When parental spleen cells from normal or allosensitized donors are adsorbed on allogeneic fibroblast monolayer a part of the GvH reactivity is depleted from the nonadherent cell population.
