Abstract

The impregnoarchitectonic picture of neurons in the nuclei of the rostral part of hypothalamus was studied by the method after Ramón- Moliner and Golgi-Cox in two months old and adult Merino sheep of both sexes. Neuron types, morphology of synaptic linkages and the spatial orientation of neuron processes are indicated in each hypothalamic structure. The most frequent type of neurons in the regio hypothalamica rostralis is an oval to spindle-shaped neuron, and the cells are exclusively multipolar. As distinct from other hypothalamus nuclei, only a small number of neurons were impregnated in the nuclei of nucleus supraopticus and nucleus paraventricularis because these were true neuroscretory nuclei.
