A short report from the project "Improved communication aids for people with speech impediments".

The project, initiated by Professor Olle Höök in 1976, is described. A review is given of different sub-projects, such as the development of an assessment form, the development of synthetic speech as a communication aid, communication aids for use with Bliss' symbol-system, development of individual communication aids, development of a play-inspired system for trying out control devices and finally development of play-materials for communication-training.
