Abstract
The cardiomyopathies are idiopathic muscle disorders that are characterized by hypertrophy, dilation, or restriction. This article discusses arrhythmias in hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathy in relation to clinical significance and treatment; when possible, the authors comment on etiology.
