Eradication of Sendai virus from an infected mouse breeding colony was successfully made by sacrificing all offspring younger than 5 weeks of age at a time and then newborns as well as severely affected breeder mice for successive 2 weeks. By this method, number of breeders decreased of two third of those in the original colony but recovered again about 2 months later.
通过一次性处死所有5周龄以下的后代，然后连续两周处死新生仔鼠以及严重感染的种鼠，成功地从受感染的小鼠繁殖群体中清除了仙台病毒。通过这种方法，种鼠数量减少到原群体的三分之二，但约2个月后又恢复了。
