Abstract

An on-going survey of cancer in siblings is described. So far, 29 families have been identified in which more than one child developed cancer. In two families the number of children with cancer was respectively 4 and 3, whereas it was 2 in the other 27 families. In 14 of the latter, the same cancer types developed in both siblings. The present report is meant to be an appeal addressed to Italian pediatricians and institutions involved in pediatric cancer aiming at collecting further cases of pediatric cancer in siblings.

本文描述了一项正在进行的关于兄弟姐妹患癌情况的调查。到目前为止，已确定29个家庭中有不止一个孩子患癌。在两个家庭中，患癌孩子的数量分别为4个和3个，而在其他27个家庭中则为2个。在这27个家庭中的14个里，两个兄弟姐妹患的是同一种癌症类型。本报告旨在向意大利儿科医生以及参与儿童癌症治疗的机构发出呼吁，以期收集更多兄弟姐妹患儿童癌症的病例。
