Abstract
A great deal of knowledge is now available about the hypothalamic control of anterior pituitary function. This puts the medical treatment of pituitary tumors on a sound scientific footing. In addition, medical treatment may decrease the size of these tumors in some cases, as well as improve other pituitary functions.
