The aim of the present study was to examine the action of sex-hormones on the endocrine pancreas of the female domestic duckling. Estrogen alone, or in combination with progesterone, inhibited mitosis and caused degranulation only in the B-cells of the pancreatic islets. A- or D-cells of the islets were not affected. Progesterone alone had no effect on any islet cells. It is suggested that estrogen may have dual action (mitotic inhibition and beta cell stimulation) only on B-cells of the pancreatic islets of the domestic ducklings.
本研究的目的是检测性激素对雌性家鸭内分泌胰腺的作用。单独使用雌激素或雌激素与孕酮联合使用时，仅抑制胰腺胰岛B细胞的有丝分裂并导致脱粒。胰岛的A细胞或D细胞未受影响。单独使用孕酮对任何胰岛细胞均无作用。提示雌激素可能仅对家鸭胰岛的B细胞具有双重作用（有丝分裂抑制和β细胞刺激）。
