Factors critical to highly accurate diagnoses of malignant breast pathologies by ultrasound imaging.

In an interdisciplinary program on diagnoses of breast pathologies by ultrasonic imaging, analyses of results have been completed for a symptomatic population totaling 1892 subjects. Application of a comparatively simple ultrasound instrument in conjunction with specific examination techniques has allowed the achievement of a diagnostic accuracy of 95% for the 73 malignant masses which have been encountered in the examined population.
