[Value of histochemical tetrazolium technics].

Abstract
A short review is given about the value of the tetrazolium technique in histochemistry including some new aspects of the tetrazolium reduction. The different factors and properties determining the localization, pattern and colours of the formazans in the tissue slide are discussed. The current knowledge of the atypically coloured formazans caused by the nitro groups is presented.
