Abstract
Pretreatment of human blood monocytes with hyaluronic acid for 0.5 hr enhanced significantly their ingestion in vitro of yeast particles opsonized with complement. The enhancement of the phagocytic capacity was dose dependent and maximal in the range of 25-50 micrograms/ml.
