[Problem of creating portable cardiac monitors].

The work substantiates the necessity for monitoring not only in the intensive care units but also in ambulant patients and in healthy individuals exposed to extreme exertion. To solve this problem, a portable microcardiomonitor must be designed. The algorithm for detecting disorders of cardiac rhythm and the results of its clinical tests are discussed. The device is based on the identification of R wave and the analysis of the sequence of R--R intervals.
