Legg-Perthes-Calvé disease: a new method for measurement of roentgenographic results of bilateral cases.

Few roentgenographic measurements could previously be done for bilateral cases of Legg-Perthes-Calvé disease. Measurements made on 106 normal hips of 61 children with unilateral Legg-Perthes-Calvé disease provided normal values at each chronological age for epiphyseal, joint-surface, acetabulum-head, head-neck, and acetabular indexes, and for radius and width of the femoral head. This new method allows easy calculation of all roentgenographic quotients of bilateral cases. A clinical example is given.
