Abstract

To study the time-course of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) in asthmatics, we have developed a method for continuous measurement of respiratory resistance using the forced oscillation technique during tidal breathing throughout the exercise challenge. Twenty-three out of 38 asthmatics were exercise responders and five of these responders showed an increase in resistance during exercise. The present technique may be clinically applicable in examination of different types of EIB and as a screening test.

为研究哮喘患者运动诱发支气管收缩(EIB)的时程,我们开发了一种方法,即在整个运动激发过程中,于潮气呼吸时使用强迫振荡技术连续测量呼吸阻力。38名哮喘患者中有23名是运动反应者,其中5名反应者在运动期间阻力增加。本技术可能在临床上适用于不同类型EIB的检查及作为一种筛查试验。
