In order to minimize rerupture after closed treatment of Achilles tendon rupture, the period of immobilization was prolonged from 8 to 12 weeks and an above-knee plaster cast was used the first 3 weeks. In 37 consecutive patients, followed for an average of 3 years, rerupture had occurred in two patients. It is concluded that modified closed treatment is a good alternative to surgical treatment.
为了使跟腱断裂闭合治疗后的再断裂风险降至最低，制动期从8周延长至12周，并在前3周使用长腿石膏固定。对连续37例患者进行了平均3年的随访，其中2例发生了再断裂。结论是改良闭合治疗是手术治疗的良好替代方案。
