On the treatment of anorexia nervosa.

The omnipotent triumph over the selfpossessed object: this is the anorectic's raison d'être. The successful evasion of being by love possessed, this is the methodology. Never to be found wanting, that is her interface. To be totally self-possessed, that is the self she wishes to provide herself. Analysis to such a person is not a welcome procedure. In this report I have set out some approaches I have found helpful and pitfalls to be avoided.
