Experiments were made on dogs to study principal components of the kallikrein-kinin system and the content of biogenic amines (histamine and serotonin) in the lymph of the thoracic duct and peripheral blood during sensitization and anaphylactic shock. In anaphylactic shock, the changes in the content of biologically active substances occurred in the lymph earlier and were more pronounced than in the peripheral blood. This indicates an important role of the lymphatic system in transport of biologically active substances from organs and tissues to general circulation.
