The data of the subcapsular liver haematomas of 59 deceased newborn were processed, and two clinically typical cases are discussed in detail in this article. Basing on references in literature, the incidence rate of this disease pattern, its pathology and clinical picture, as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities, are described.
