CT scanning of tumors in or near the parotid or submandibular glands. A comparison with conventional sialography.

Plain computed tomography (CT) scanning and CT scanning after injection of contrast medium into the salivary glands (CT sialography) were compared with conventional sialography in 50 patients with neoplasms in or near the parotid or submandibular glands. The results were correlated with clinical and pathological findings. CT sialography proved to be the best diagnostic method in the diagnosis of salivary gland tumors.
