The first part of this report contains data on the pitfalls which may be encountered during the diagnosis of conditions for which reconstructive dentistry is applicable: dental caries, pulpitis, pulpo -arthritis, desmodontitis . The second part enumerates possible pitfalls during reconstructive dental surgery: anesthesia, arsenical dressings, use of canal pins and of ozone, canal obturation and its immediate consequences, nerve root artefacts and sections under anesthesia, apical cysts, caries obturation.
