Thirty patients with splenic injury have been treated at Danderyd Hospital 1969-1984. All the 18 patients with splenic trauma treated until 1978 underwent splenectomy. Of the 12 patients with verified splenic injury after 1979 only six were splenectomized, two underwent laparotomy without splenectomy and four were treated nonoperatively. Thus, in half of the patients where a spleen preserving treatment was tried the spleen could be saved. A retrospective study of the previous 18 patients indicates that about the same proportion of spleen saving treatment would have been possible.
1969年至1984年期间，丹德吕德医院共治疗了30例脾损伤患者。截至1978年接受治疗的18例脾外伤患者均接受了脾切除术。1979年之后确诊的12例脾损伤患者中，只有6例行脾切除术，2例接受了未切除脾脏的剖腹手术，4例接受了非手术治疗。因此，在尝试进行保脾治疗的患者中，有一半的患者脾脏得以保留。对之前18例患者的回顾性研究表明，保脾治疗的比例可能大致相同。
