[Experiences with tracheal-T-tubes in reconstructive surgery of the trachea (author's transl)].

In 19 cases with trachea problems we used the silicon-T-tube described by Montgomery (1965). Following our experiences we can recommend this trachea-endoprosthesis for two principal indications: 1. as symptomatic treatment in cases with non-operable stenoses of the upper airways, 2. as endoprosthesis and laryngeal or tracheal stent after reconstructive surgery. Numerous advantages compared with traditionally used silver canulas have been noticed.
