Children and AIDS: implications for child welfare.

To the layers of mystery and controversy surrounding the cause, transmission, and treatment of AIDS is added yet another: children, as well as adults, are contacting AIDS. And, because of their dependent status, children with AIDS are becoming the responsibility of child welfare service providers. The author discusses the most recent findings on AIDS and children with AIDS and how the child welfare field can respond.
