The visuomotor behaviour of normal, control-operated and corpus callosum-sectioned hooded rats during interocular transfer of two visual discriminations was examined by means of video-recordings. All animals formed stereotyped running patterns in the training box during initial training. When tested for interocular transfer, callosum-sectioned rats showed more disorganized running patterns than normal or control-operated rats, although transfer of the discriminations was good. The results may indicate a role of the corpus callosum in visuomotor behaviour.
