The excision of a basal cell carcinoma of the lower eyelid often leaves a large defect. The rotational browplasty flap with a full thickness buccal mucous membrane graft permits satisfactory reconstruction when standard procedures have failed or are not advisable. It is especially useful in recurrent lid tumors where surgery and/or radiotherapy have been unsuccessful in controlling the tumor. Although the graft may produce a thicker lower lid, and the brow may be elevated because of the graft, it allows the surgeon to repair a large lower eyelid defect when other methods cannot be used.
下眼睑基底细胞癌切除术后常遗留较大缺损。当标准手术方法失败或不可行时，带全层颊黏膜移植的旋转眉成形皮瓣可实现满意的重建。在复发性眼睑肿瘤中，若手术和/或放疗未能成功控制肿瘤，该方法尤其有用。尽管移植可能会使下眼睑变厚，且由于移植可能会使眉毛抬高，但当无法使用其他方法时，它能让外科医生修复较大的下眼睑缺损。
