Bacteremic Pseudomonas pneumonia is an almost universally fatal condition. Most cases are hospital acquired and associated with underlying disease. The present case is that of a 64-yr-old man who presented with community-acquired, bacteremic Pseudomonas pneumonia without obvious underlying predisposing conditions and who survived. Features contributing to his survival are discussed.
