[Development of schizonts in cultured hepatocytes of adult rats after in vitro infection with Plasmodium yoelii sporoazoites].

Salivary glands of A. stephensi, containing P. yoelii' sporozoites, were disrupted and added to hepatocyte cultures originated from the liver of an adult Rat perfused with a collagenase solution. 47 h after this in vitro inoculation, numerous well-developed and normal-looking schizonts were found in the hepatocyte monolayer.
