The effect of alternating hydrostatic pressure on the function of the platelets--vascular wall system has been studied. It has been shown that exposure to pressure leads to the increased capacity of platelets to aggregation, adhesion and release. This is accompanied by the lowering of antiaggregation activity of the vascular wall and increase in the latter of thromboplastin factors. It has been ascertained that acetylsalicylic acid is capable to reduce the pressure treatment-induced effects. The importance of the discovered changes in the mechanisms of hemostasiological disorders is discussed.
