OEPF funded research--its impact on prevention.

Of the many assessment techniques and treatment regimens available to the behavioral optometrist, a large majority were developed through formal or informal research conducted under the aegis of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation, Inc. A summary of the various phases of the OEPF research effort since its beginning in 1928 is presented. Clinically applied, the regimens refined by clinical associates of OEPF have the potential to reduce the social and economic impact of vision problems which are increasing in our technological society.
