A large number of children exhibit characteristic abnormalities of attention, coordination, learning, and behavior, which together compose the attention deficit disorder. These abnormalities frequently lead to school failure and social maladjustment. A variety of therapies diminish the symptoms of this disorder, offering hope for improved prognosis. Management depends upon early identification, thorough evaluation, and appropriate intervention.
