The authors describe 8 years of experience in the care of amputees with dysvascular diseases using a multidisciplinary team approach. They compare this method of amputee rehabilitation with one using similar personnel but no team approach. In the hospital using the team approach, there were many more below-knee amputees, a higher number of prosthetic fittings in a shorter period and more fittings in older patients than in the control hospital.
